Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
My mother died 4 years ago. 2 years ago a check (7k) came in her name. As executor i split the money with my brother. A law firm representing the nursing home where she stayed wants the money. She was on medicare/medicaid. What do i do?

Unless you and your brother are judgment proof, I would try to settle. The nursing home has valid claim against your mother's estate.
