can we do a will and file it at the court of law by ourselves?

Yes, you can probably get a form somewhere and fill in the blanks. There is also software available.

You can also file the executed Will in the Surrogate's Court for a fee.

However, there are no guarantees that the form will is appropriate for your particular situation,

Furthermore, a will prepared and supervised by an attorney will be "self-proving," so that your executor/executrix won't have to get the witnesses to supply affidavits to the court after your death.

For a relatively small fee paid know you will insure that your assets will be distributed in accordance with your wishes.

Would you perform surgery on yourself? You can also buy scalpels at a surgical supply store.
