Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in North Carolina

What is my right as a wife who has been locked out

My Husband changed all the locks to the house while I was at work, I came home with our three year old and to my surprise all the locks were changed, he fabricated a note from the landlord saying I hadn't paid my part of the rent-not true,I have the check stubs. So now all of my belongings (and my daughters) are locked in a house I cannot enter. I do not wish to brake the door down, seeing as I cannot possibly move it all in one evening, what are the pros and cons of preceeding with a lawsuit against my husband?

Consult a domestic relations attorney in your town at once. You have substantial legal rights at stake. Your bar association will provide references if you don't know a divorce lawyer.
