Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

If someone is arrested for shop lifting and there is no proof of it can a company or the court systems report it to your records before youeven appear in court. I lost a job because the company tring to hired me said they seen it on my record and would not hire me due to this being on my record.

You did not indicate if this shoplifting charge is pending or a conviction. If the matter is still pending, you probally lost out on the job due to there being a record of the arrest. This kinda sucks as it flys in the face of the theory of innocent until proven guilty. However, if you were actually convicted of shoplifting, then the company was clearly within their right to rely on a record of conviction in their decision to not hire you.
