maternity leave

what are employers required to do as far as maternity leave? will have only been at my job 8 months at the time leave is requested for. is my employer required to let me return to my position?

Under the federal law, the Family and Medical Leave Act, you are not an eligible employee since you have not worked there for a year. However, state law may provide some leave entitlement and your company may have some leave policy that will be of assistance to you. I would recommend that you consult with an employment law attorney who practices in your state.
