I need information and advise on summons in a civil case from DIRECTV.

We really need more information to answer this question. I would gather and/or assume that you were sued by Directv and that you have been with a summons (and presumably a complaint). You need to consult a lawyer to file an Answer and to advise you. You can try to answer the Complaint and file the Answer yourself, but that's always risky for a non-lawyer. The failure to file an answer can result in a default judgment against you. In state court you have only 30 days to do this. (If it's a small claims proceeding, you don't need to file an answer.) Please submit more information if you need additional assistance.
