What isthe penalty for a no show at a cilil hearing. Not a subpoena. Just a letter to show.It was not certified.

While I would have to see the letter, I don't think you should just not show up. If you are subpoenaed, you have 10 days to quash the subpoena, assuming that you have grounds to do so. Just not wanting to be involved is not enough. If you refuse to honor a subpoena, the judge will send the sheriff's out to arrest you.

But you claim this is not a subpoena. So why would you be ordered to court? Who sent the letter? Without knowing more facts, I cannot give you better advice. If you want to talk about this in confidence, please contact me at [email protected].
