Legal Question in Civil Litigation in North Carolina

I recently found out that someone tried to inpersonate me in order to claim life insurance benefits. Nothing happened insurance company called me and we got it straight, and that person did not recieve any proceeds. Can I sue them for trying to claim my benefits?

No. Not unless you suffered some kind of financial loss. You could maybe sue for nominal damages civilly Perhaps the person could be prosecuted for an attempted crime. In such case, talk to law enforcement.
