Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Carolina

The owner of the apartment complex I live in has filed bankruptcy. I received a notice from a company bidding on the property, stating that they intend to 'assume' my lease.

Do I have an obligation to fulfill that lease given that the arrangement was entered into with a different owner?

Yes you do. Unless the leqase allows for you to terminate it if the property is sold, the new owner becomes the landlord and he/she takes the place of the old one.
