Legal Question in Legal Ethics in North Carolina

Tampering or Altering Time cards

A co-worker has gone into my desk drawer tamplering my time card. This person changes my time by 15 minutes or 30 minutes.I was out on Monday and the boss told me to take vacation day. This person erased that on my time card and put in zero hours. Then changed yesterdays time by a half hour in the morning, when she was no here to at that time to know whether I was working or not. I also had a ''paid lunch'' with a client and she erased that. She told my boss that she saw me that day in a fast food drive thru. I know that it was not me.

I have moved my time card everywhere. I have even put it in another office and she has somehow known where it is.I have took it home with me and she waits until it is turned in to Payroll and then goes and gets it to change it. My boss does not understand why she does this. He will not fire her for it. I have confronted her and she says that it is her ''mission from god'' to prove that I am a LIAR.I guess she thinks I lie on my time card. What re-course do I have? Are there any laws that protect me in regards to privacy or employee records?Tampering with employee records?

Re: Tampering or Altering Time cards

Absolutely your employer needs to deal with this woman. If you employer doesn't do it, you may have a claim against BOTH of them for defamation, tortious interference with a contract and wage/salary issues. Go for it!
