Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

real estate

I own a building in the downtown district of our town. My survey map shows that I also own a 3 foot stip of land adjacent to my building. The Town Manager claims to have a survey that shows that my side property is only 1.7 feet and refuses to permit me to use the area outside his survey bounds. I would like a court to order an independent survey. How can I get a court order to determine the actual correct dimension of my side property?

Re: real estate

As a general matter, you would need to hire an attorney to file a boundary line lawsuit, and you can request that the court order an independent survey. You should probably see an attorney to discuss this matter further with more facts.
