Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in North Carolina

deceased parent without a will

Mother is only parent living, had 2 children, but one child is now deceased. That child has living wife & 1 adult child. If mother dies & does NOT have Will, will estate go directly to living child, or will it be divided between living child & wife & child of deceased sibling?
