Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

Discipline for workers comp.

I feel sure it is illegal for a company to discipline an employee for using workers comp. I just need to know what law addresses that. Im in NC.

The state Retaliatory Employment Discrimination Act specifically makes it illegal to discriminate against individuals availing themselves of workers' compensation benefits (defined as a "protected activity").

You need to contact the NC Dept. of Labor, WORD Division. You only have 180 days from the last date of discrimination to file a claim. You can link from our site at ncworkcomp.com. Good luck!
