As a general rule, the carrier has a right to direct your medical care. You can file a motion with the Industrial Commission to have a different doctor approved but you need to show good cause. You also have a right to a second opinion with a doctor of your choice once you have received a perrmanent partial disability rating.

Also, you can always go to a doctor of your choice at your own expense. If surgery is recommended, the Industrial Commission will let you have a second opinion with a doctor of your choice. Good luck.
