Legal Question in Civil Litigation in North Dakota

I recently was cited for Fargo, ND ordinance # 25-1513A (sell/consume/possession of alcohol in public). What actually happened was that one person did have a drink when we were halted, but all five people in the group received the citation. Every person in the group was well over the age of 21. The four of us that did not have any alcohol are all fighting it, and we were wondering if there is anything we can say to make it obvious that we were treated unfairly in the situation. I'm not sure what area of law this falls under, so I just put general. I hope you are able to help us.Thank You.

You should fight this. But it is too complex to simply explain. You should hire an attorney or ask for a public defender from the court. Timing might be an issue here because if you have already appeared in court a 28 day clock has started to request a jury trial. We would give you a free consultation if you contacted our office, ask for Dan or Ross, however I (Ross) will not be in on Friday.
