Legal Question in Construction Law in Ohio

leaky roof

I did a roof for someone that asked me to steer away from my original plan to correct their leaks. He wanted a temporary fix for half the price. I reluctantly agreed & did it his way, but explained I would not issue a guarantee for this system. He has paid for materials & half the labor, but a leak has arose so he is withholding 4308.00 & threatening to sue even though I have made every attemp to work with him & correct the problem. Does he have a case? Should I seek legal help?

Re: leaky roof

Dear Contractor: It is sincerely hoped that you had a written proposal or contract, signed by you and your customer, expressing the change in roofing repair plan, and your specific provision that you would NOT guarantee the work as the owner insisted be done.

Retain an attorney ASAP.

Good luck.

Sincerely J. Norman Stark, Cleveland, OH.
