Legal Question in Consumer Law in Ohio

Auto Repair Shop Used Wrong Part

I had my car repaired back in March 2005. The shop put on a new timing belt. 15 months later, the timing belt came off while I was driving and did major damage to the engine. The shop would not cover as it was beyond the 12 month warantee period. Another mechanic recently discovered that the timing belt installed in March 2005 was the wrong belt/wrong size. Do I have any legal recourse?

Yes, I believe you do. The fact thet the wrong belt was installed brings the suit away from breach of warranty and makes it a negligence action (two year statute of lim.) Call if you would like to discuss a lawsuit against them, initial consultation is free.
