Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

I owe my old roommate money that I intend to pay back. My roommate and her husband admitted to stealing my TV, but I know they have my DVD player, and lawn chairs. They say when I pay them back they will let me have my things. The only thing is they moved from Ohio to North Carolina. I am filing a report tomorrow with the police department in the town it was taken from. Can I sue them and have them brought back to Ohio to be in court? Also, can I file at the place where they took it saying I know where stolen property is? Also, her husband is in the Air Force. Would it be possilbe if I could call military police and file? I know it would be a felony charge in Ohio, so I want to bring them back here. Please help. Thanks.

Theft of a value of $500 or greater is a felony (prosecution must prove that the current market value is $500 or above). Below that is a misdemeanor. The jurisdiction to file the report would be in the community in which the items were taken. However, I doubt that law enforcement in this community would even attempt to have them extradited. The fastest way to get some action would be to call the Commanding Officer of his post. The military does not take kindly to this type of behavior and they will investigate in a timely fashion.
