Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

I have an 8 year old and a 12 year old. My ex is very abusive but the courts do not seem to care. I have shared parenting and am the residental parent. If I move out of state with them is this considering parental kidnapping if I already am the residental parent? I am only considering this because of his abuse of all of us and his harrassment toward me. I live in a "good ol boys" town where women are treated less than fair.

In Ohio, if you have a shared parenting plan, then there is likely some sort of relocation notice requirements that you will have to meet. If you disobeyed the decree then you would be subject to contempt of court proceedings if you left the state.

The better course of action would be to petition the court to allow you to move with the kids. If you are in an area where you suspect there is an old boys network, then you will want to hire a divorce attorney who you feel is tied in to those folks enough to accomplish your goals.
