Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

disallussion

In doing a disallussion does that mean that there is no child support and that we agree on how often each of us has with the kids. Also, can we do this online without paying for an attorney?

Re: disallussion

Under the ORC, a child support guideline must be completed and attached. The ORC spells out the circumstances under which the parties may deviate from the guideline amount. A deviation must be specifically included in the final entry.

The ORC just changed with the release of the federal regs in July 2008. The new statute requires a cash medical order and two separate child support odrders (one when private medical is provided and one when it isn't). Some courts are not yet using these guidelines even though they were effective in July.

You could do it yourself, but you are better off to seek local counsel to help guide you with the new complicated child support laws.
