Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Name still on loan

I have a question about the wording under ''property division''. My ex-husband kept the house and it states that he has ownership free and clear. My problem is that my name is still on the loan for that house and he has yet to refinance to have his name only on the loan. It doesn't state any time restrictions for when he needs to get this done, but what are my rights? Does the state of Ohio have a built in clause for refinancing a property loan in a divorce? It's been two and a half years now..

Re: Name still on loan

Even though the decree is not specific, two & 1/2 years is beyond plenty of time. You could persue a contempt motion to force him to refinance, I have a case pending like that right now. Ed Dicato
