Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

paternity settlement

A married man with whom I had a child with asked me to drop the paternity suit against him, he asked that I sign a confidential agreement to accept $25,000 in lieu of dropping the charges against him. I signed it but now want to pursue the paternity case, he was never tested DNA. Can I violate my agreement with him and re-open the case? This all took place with in 5 months time of receiving his settlement.

Re: paternity settlement

It sounds like an unenforceable contract as against public policy. Hoever, I would hire an attorney to specifically research the issue.

Good luck!!!
