Legal Question in Medical Leave in Ohio

Medical leave

My husband was recently disabled in an accident and needed full time care at home. I have had to take off several days to care for him. My employer states that I have accumulated my maximum number of points for the entire year. I have only been employed there for about 4 months. Do I have any rights regarding this matter?

Re: Medical leave

Under the federal law, the Family and Medical Leave Act, unless you have 12 months of service and 1250 hours during the preceding 12 month period, you are not qualified for FMLA leave.

This does not preclude any rights you may have under the laws of your state. To determine what rights you have, you may want to consult with an attorney in your state.
