Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Ohio

one of my (then) close friends has been mad at me for over a year, she told her parents we had sex and they are discussing pressing charges. we never did, she was like my little sister, what proof would they need to have a case? i am 21 and she is 16. i have currently been in a monogamous relationship for about 2 years now and my girlfriend has three young kids. i don't want to jeopardize losing my family because an immature teenager is mad at me.

In Ohio, the victim need not "press charges". This is TV drama. The girl must go to the police to investigate and if the police believe a crime has been committed, the case will be kicked to a prosecutor who will then make a decision to prosecute the case. If you are charged/indicted for what looks like a felony sex crime you must hire an attorney immediately to represent you. You may make matters worse if you try to go it alone because you feel you did nothing wrong. Don't think that innocent people do not get in trouble. They do.
