Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

Under 18 no insurance accident

My daughter is 17 she got in an accident yesterday, she had a green light went through it following cars in front of her. other driver said his light was not working he went through the light and my daughter hit him, after trying to brake. When I arrived on the scene both sides were out. my son was also in the car. The other driver got out and said it was his fault and he was sorry and that he was on the phone with his wife. What makes matters worse is that he is a teacher at there school. When the cops arrived he changed his story and they blamed her for the accident. I have no insurance until 4:22pm the day the accident happened at 3:45pm. They wrote it as no insurance. I don't know what to do, I don't want her to lose her license and I can't afford to lose mine, but I don't have the money for an attorney. I thought that maybe if she did take the blame and I pay for his damage which is minimal compared to my daughters car that The court may be a little bit easier on suspending our license. Please Help I don't know what to do.... By the way The reason we did not have insurance is because the car had been broken down for 3 months and I just got it fixed about 3 weeks ago. I do have proof of that.

Re: Under 18 no insurance accident

Just because he changed his story does not mean that your daughter was at fault. Was she injured???

She needs to get a copy of the police report and file one with her version of what happened. Then contact his insurance to file a claim. Feel free to contact me. Many atttorneys, me included, will take a personal injury/ auto accident case on a contigent fee basis, which means that there is no fee unless there is a recovery. Please contact me. I can probably help with the noi insurance issue too. 216, 227, 0900.
