Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

Picked up with errors

Pulled over with no lights, told I didn't completely stop for a sign which I feel I did. I stopped back then rolled forward Did not argure my point in front of my children, nor did I admit guilt. 1 Hour and 2 police men later the original officer told me she couldn't get my information to enter into her computer. Handed me a ticket without the model of my car on it and no court date or time. I called the court to find out a court date and then they sent me a letter of their mistake. How do I proceed?

Re: Picked up with errors

If they gave you a court date to appear, show up and plead not guilty. If you pplan to get an attorney, he/she should be able to get something done at your next court date. If no attorney, try to talk to the prosecutor either at your arraignment or the following court date. Request that due to the deficient ticket, the citation should be dismissed. If they refuse to dismiss it, try to get it amended to a non-moving violation (no points, small fine and costs).
