Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

I was pulled over for speeding.I paid the fine online but did not show proof of insurance, the car which was not mine was insured.I was pulled over again 3 months later for a light out .I was told i was driving under suspension which I did not know because I never recieved a letter from the ohio bmv for notice of suspension .I have to go back to court for driving under suspension.Do I need a lawyer? Can I still send in proof of insurance to the ohio bmv?

Plead not guilty on the DUS so that you will have time to correct everything with the BMV. If you're not getting mail from them, I wonder if they have a different address for you. It is your responsibility to make sure they have the right address if you ever move.

First, get proof of insurance from the owner and provide that to the BMV ASAP. Delay the new charge as long as possible until you get your license back. When you do and you show it to the prosecutor and tell your story, he should amend the charge or even dismiss it at your cost. Call me directly for any more guidance 216.952.1990.
