Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

death of my father and mother will

my sister is the executor in a will from 20 years ago

my neice has lived with my parents for the last 7 years

my sister has had the locks changed on my parents house so she cannot get in.

i visited last week from nc, my parents house is in ohio, she would not let me stay there

she has not shared what she is doing with his money or anything else

the only reason we got a copy of the will is because her attorney told her to send it to the siblings

the will states it is all divided equally

we think she is cheating on things in relationship to his bank accounts

so we, the siblings have any right as to know what is going on??

Re: death of my father and mother will

You will be entitled to a copy of the inventory in the estate when it is due. This shows all the assets which belong to the estate and which are subject to division. Any bank accounts which listed your sister as a co owner or beneficiary will not appear on the inventory- these are technically hers.

You may wish to hire a local attorney to deal with the estate attorney. This may keep your sister in line if necessary.
