Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

My father in law recently passed away. We have found an old will but are concerned that he may have changed it since then. When a person dies, do lawyers search their files and try to match recently deceased persons with the wills they have in their possession. Will they notify the family if they have the will?

An attorney who drafted the document will have it in hers/his files. The attorney will notify the family if he knows the person passed away. (but he may not know). You should find the lawyer who prepared the will you have and try to track down whether a new one exists.
