Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

what to do with money of the deceesed that is in someone else's name?

My grandmother died about 2 months ago. I am an beneficiary, but the others and I have been completely left in the dark as to what is going on, and from what i've heard nothing has been going on. She had a will which divides everything equally between us. Everything has been taken out of her name except for 1/2 of the house. can we just divide up her accounts on our own? if the people who's names are on the accounts won't cooporate what should be done? how long should the entire process take, including probate for the estate?

The executor should be keeping you informed. Probate can up to a year in most cases or more. It depends on the number of assets and the complexity of the estate. In PA this information is of public records. Contact an attorney if you have any questions.
