Nursing homes and your property

Will my husband lose the house my father-in-law put in his name recently if he needs to be put in nursing home within the next five years?

If the father-in-law makes a Medicaid application within 36 months of the transfer of the property, the fair market value of the property will be included in the father-in-law's assets, and generate a period of ineligibility for such benefits. Remember, maximum assets for a single person to be eligible for Medicaid is $1500.00.
