if i am on probation can i move to another state

i was in an acccident in october and i left the scene cause i paniced. i was on my way back and got pulled over while i had 911 on phone. i got told that the max i can get is 6 months in jail a 1,000 dollar fine and a suspened license. but my public defender said cause i have a clean record except traffic tickets that i will prolly get a fine and probation if i do get that am i allowed to move to another state with my wife if i am on probation? thanks so much for ur time

It would be up to your probation officer. If you plan to move soon I would let your attorney know so that the judge can be aware and sentence accordingly. The judge may give you community service instead of probation. The options are limitless. Good Luck
