Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

will contest and credit card

i took care of my grandpa after he came to me and told me that my sister and a helper had stole from him. he had 27 rentals he let them control, they said he never had any money coming from them, their statement was ''they just didn't make any money'' after moving in like he asked, i came acrossed signed iou for more than $40,000 from the helper,my grandpa gave me 2 notes signed by my sister in front of a lawyer for $10,000 each dated in 87' never paid. with an 8% interest annually.he said if something happened to him make sure i gave them to the person that will be taking care of everything.his prior will before he knew she was ripping off was made out to her only,i told him in the passed,i could live happier with the memories that anyone being upset over material things.when my grandpa passed the will was opened and i found out that he had went and changed the will and left mostly everything to me and totally excluding my sister from the will,i am assuming that was for taking things from him from what his lawyer of 13 years said.she is now contesting the will saying i made him do this, it took him 4 visits and i have never been in his lawyers office.his lawyer said the will is valid and he knew what he wanted.what will happen?

Re: will contest and credit card

Your sister will have to bring an action in Court to contest the will. The burden will be on her to prove that you coerced your grandfather into signing the will. The cost of defense will be paid by the Estate. The cost of bringing the action will be at your sister's expense. A very small percentage of these cases are successful. It will depend on the facts of each case but it sounds like your grandfather did what he wanted and had adequate legal representation.
