Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Oklahoma

''Roommate'' Gone Off The Deep End

I have been living with my ''boyfriend'' for almost five years in his home. Fighting has ensued and he has become emotionally abusive. He will not allow me to leave with what is mine, he just wants me to leave. I am willing to do so when I can take everything that belongs to me. We disagree on what is mine and what is his. He sent me an e-mail and gave me a notice to vacate the premesis is seven days stating I was a roomer/boarder. Does he have to legal right to do this? Do I have the legal right to stand my ground and stay?

Re: ''Roommate'' Gone Off The Deep End

It sounds like your ex boy friend has really "gone off the deep end." To give you a correct answer I believe a little more information is needed. Does he (boy freind) own the residence? If not, is there a lease? Are both of your names on the lease? Did you have any type of written or verbal understanding on the bills, or rent? If you'd like to provide me the additional information I will be happy to give you an answer. Good Luck. -Bob-
