Residental Treatment Center False Report

14 yr old step-son was placed in Residental Treatment Center.Told the LPC he was attachment disorder, adhd, conduct disorder. He was manipulative, lies, hates women,a danger to our younger children. told her he had turned his adopted mother and me into CPS for abuse 6x's. Each proven false. She assured us she understood. Our Problems: 1. After a total of 3 hrs meeting me (phone and face to face) the LPC called my husband at work one day and told him I had mental problems and he needed to get me help.

2. The LPC turned me into CPS for abuse. She stated she was afraid for the child to return to our home because I was mental and unstable. But she called my husband and requested we come and get son because he was cured.

3. We had reason to believe son had sexual abused 3yr old and reported to CPS. CPS called RTC and requested son not be returned home due to suspected abuse to 3 yr old. RTC said they would not keep him. And if we did not pick him up they would charge us with abandonment.4.LPC told son we had made up sexual abuse charges against him so RTC would keep him. 5. RTC is required to give 14 days notice when they dismiss a child. We were given 4.Question? What can we do (legal) to this LPC and/or RTC.

Re: Residental Treatment Center False Report

You need to get a lawyer immediately and explore what you can do to deal with this child. Place him in quality treatment if you must, but definitely, definitely, explore family counseling. Since he is dysfunctional, chances are there are issues in the entire family that need resolution. Don't put it all on him (after all, he's still only a child): deal with it as a family, regardless of whether you think he is to blame or not. If you need to have him committed, then do so, but I would try intensive family counseling for a while, and never leave him alone with the younger children.
