Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Oklahoma

Can we be evicted with no cause?

am buying a mobile home located at a trailer park I have been here for one year. I make my house payment directly to the owner, and make my lot payment to Nadine, the owner of the trailer park. I have never been late on a payment to either, and have never had a complaint against me.

Today, the person we are purchasing the trailer from called me. The owner of the trailer park called her and said she is evicting us as tenants immediately. Her reason... according to her, rumors are going around about her grandson selling drugs, and he (the grandson) thinks my husband is behind the rumors. That is her entire reason. She went so far as to tell the owner of the trailer that my husband and I always pay on time, that we are about the only ones around here that don't do drugs or use alcohol, that she ''likes us''. But she is trying to force us out because her grandson (who has a long history of criminal convictions that we can show) thinks that my husband is the one saying he sells drugs.

Re: Can we be evicted with no cause?

If you do not have a written lease for a specific term, ie. a year then she may be able to upon thirty days notice to quit. If there is no written lease or if it has expired without renewal, then you are probably on a month-to-month tenancy in which event either party can terminate upon thirty days notice without reason. The landlord will have to follow the law on notice. You will have a right to go before a judge and explain your facts and sometimes the Judge will find a legal reason to deny the eviction if the reason is as you have indicated.
