Legal Question in Construction Law in Oregon

How do I fight a property Lien?

My Parents passed away and I am the appointedperson for their estate. I hired a contractor to finish their log home. There was additional that was done without my approval it was just performed and a bill of $ 3500.00 was give to me I asked for more details like time and material costs. The information was still not clear I agreed to pay 1/2 bill. The contractor put a property lien without him sending me a notice to Lien and then I also found out he was not even licensed or bonded in the state of Oregon only Washinton where his company was located. How do I go about removing this Lien since the property is for sale and we now have a offer. What can I do so other customers do not use this company. It was the worst experience of my life, so far, just being 6 weeks late in the job was nothing the list is just to long to type. There were so many problems, but right now I need to solve this Lien issue ASAP. Thank you for your time in this matter, MMN
