fmla intermitten leave for a mate

does my place of employment have to allow me intermitten time off to care for my husband who is not able to care for himself, or when he needs me will they allow me to drop what Im doing to be with him or allow me to call in sick or be absent due to his medical needs?

Assuming that all of the coverage requirements are met, the FMLA will permit you take off from work to care for the 'serious health condition' of a spouse.
