Landlord Tenant Issue

My landlord is having marital problems and came by my house today to tell me that I might have to move out in 2 days so he and his kids can move in. Can he do this? He told me I could move to another rental of his but with 2 days notice this does not seem fair.

No. But, unless you have a lease, he can give you a 30 day "no cause" notice and require you to move out of the property. You may want to try negotiate some consideration for moving earlier (i.e., costs of moving, renting a van, free rent for a period of time in the new place, etc.) But the bottom line is he has no right to force you to leave in 2 days.
