Re: Renters Rights

You do not state whether you have already received a notice of the right to purchase the unit you live in. The owner must give you several notices during a condo conversion.

The owner first must give you a notice about the conversion 30 days before giving you a second notice, which is a 60 day right to purchase the unit in which you reside. The first notice is not allowed to be a termination of the tenancy.

Once you reject the 60 day right to purchase notice, then the owner can give you a 30 day notice to move out.

The area of condominium conversions is complicated and there are a variety of other timing and notice issues, what I have stated above are the basics.
