What are my legal responsibilities if I were to cause damage to property, vehicles or other items due to an errant swing/shot during the course of play while playing golf?

There is no immunity for golfers. If you damage something due to errant shot, you are responsible to pay to repair or replace the item. The cost might be covered by your homeowners insurance, strangely enough. Call your insurance agent.
