Legal Question in Disability Law in Pennsylvania

Qualification of disability

Would being unable to travel by plane (grounded due to chronic inner ear damage) qualify as a disability that would require accomodation by an employer under ADA?

It does not interfere with ability to perform job functions but limits locations where job can be performed.

Qualification of disability

The question is whether the chronic inner ear damage substantially interferes with one or more major life functions (which I don't think includes flying on a plane). If so, you are disabled under ADA, but under the facts you present if not then you would not be disabled (unless your supervisors at work CONSIDER you as disabled even if you are not, then that would also qualify you under the ADA).Yes, this does mean that if you have health problems, but they are not so serious to qualify as disabled, then you get no protection under the ADA, but if you have more serious health problems then you WILL get ADA protection.
