Re: unnecessart blood work on a 16 yr old cat

You asked about health care fro an aged cat.

When a person seeks out health care, whether for human or animal, the assumption is that the person intends for the health care provider to do what is needed to care for the patient.

When you brought your cat to the vet the assumption is that you want the cat checked out for some reason. What was the vet supposed to do if not conduct diagnostic tests on the cat?

The probability that the cat would die on any day only increased as its age increased. Was it a surprise that the cat died? Probably not. But that was not the fault of you, or the vet. Nor does the fact that the tests came back negative suggest anything more than that the cat died of old age. What if the cat died from the trauma of being brought to the vet?

Wait a little while and your anger will subside and you'll forget the matter. Thank the vet for taking such good care of the cat so that it lived to the ripe old age of 16. But in case if you stop payment on the check you will be sued and you will lose.

Regards,

Roger
