Legal Question in Banking Law in Pennsylvania

Im in debt with a few credit cards they are all in my name and not my wifes .

My wifes and my name are on our bank accounts , two a re business accounts and one is a joint personnal account . Can my creditors freeze my account and take out money even with my wifes name on the accounts . If they do freeze me account how do i ubfreeze it . I live in Pennsylvannia .

Yes. Get your name off of any joint accounts immediately. You cannot "unfreeze" a bank accouynt. Once the creditor levies on it those funds are gone and it will be very difficult to get those funds back unless you can show they are exempt. In such case, the only remedy will be for your spouse to open a separate bank account.

For you, get your name of any joint accounts. Get an online bank account at ING Direct, ally, ready-debit or somewhere else or get a bank account at a small community bank (not Bank of America, Wells Fargo, PNC or any of the big banks with lots of ATMs) or possibly a credit union.
