Legal Question in Banking Law in Pennsylvania

Judgements/Bankruptcy

I have been served papers that I have been sued in civil court. Can a judgement be rendered against me if I am in bankruptcy. If it is I don,t know how I can pay. I don,t have the money.

Re: Judgements/Bankruptcy

Once you file bankruptcy all legal proceeding must stop. Legal counsel in bankruptcy should notify the attorney who filed the legal action. At the very minimum, a copy of the filing should be sent to the attorney representing the creditor.
