I co signed a loan for a relative and they breached the contract and I had to pay off the loan. Can I put a lein on property that is owned by an mortgage agreement.By that I mean the relative has a recorded deed but the original owner is holding the mortage.

Re: collecting on a breached contract

I'm not sure of your question. I think you're asking if you can sue your relative for the money you had to pay. If that's your question, it depends what your agreement was with your relative. Did you have a written agreement where your relative promises to repay you? If not, it may be hard to collect anything from the relative. You shold consult an attorney in your area.
