Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

mortgage charges

My mortgage went into default. I have tried since October 2008 to modify my loan. Spent many hours on the phone with the company and always got we will call you back. they never do. Told me not to send payment unless it was payment in full. My home is now up for sheriff sale. In April I signed forbearance papers and they never suspended the sale. Called and they sent me more forbearance papers to sign and yet the sale is still not suspended I have been make the forbearance payments on time. Now they are trying to charge me 4000 in fees. I have been trying to take care of this since before it even went into default. Am i responsible for these charges since they were the one who dropped the ball.

Re: mortgage charges

I would have to review your documents to give you a good answer on this. You should consider immediate action to protect your home from sheriffs sale, such as filing for bankruptcy. If you do nothing, you will likely lose your home. Please consult an attorney immediately.
