Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Criminal Law

Was on Delaware River, got a ticket for possession, and have court date in October.

TV & movies say a lawyer will be appointed??? How do I get help in the real world?

Im a full time student on Medicaid.

If you do not have an income, you should call the public defenders office in the county where you were charged. They'll go over some financial guidelines with you. If you make less than a certain amount, the public defenders office will be appointed to represent you.

If the PD's office tells you that you make to much ask if they have a marginal program-some kind of list of attorney's that are willing to take the case at a reduced fee.

Go apply for a public defender in the county where the charges are filed.
