Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Nigerian Cash Scam/ COurt Hearing

I sold a fishtank on craigslist, the guy sent me a 1100.00 check. I cashed the check at Rice and Spice with no id, pic taken, or fingerprint. A few days later the transaction just seemed funny so i went to ploice after i sent the money back. It was a Nigerian Cash Scam. I warned the guy at Rice and Spice but he just wouldnt listen. So the day he called me and told me the check bounced, I tried to work out a payment plan for what i can pay until i get a job. He wasnt with it, now 3months later he wants to work out a plan. $100 a wk which i dont have because the economy sucks with hiring people. He wants to take me to court now. Im still looking for work, and I dont have any record under my name, Juvenile or Adult. What will happen to me in court. I have 2 statements at the police for before and after it happened. I jus need sum advice or a number i can get me a free public defender

Unless criminal charges are filed against you, you do not qualify for a public defender. If you are sued, there will be a Notice to Defend telling you who to contact.
