Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Private criminal complaint

So I heard from a friend that the guy I got into a bar fight with has (or is going to) file a private criminal complaint. If I file one as well, will he be charged as well. He hit me first and I was just trying to hold him back and stop him from hitting me. He is going to claim that I hit him first. Is it possible for both of us to be charged and found guilty or will only one of us be found guilty and the other found inncocent?

Re: Private criminal complaint

The D.A.'s office has to reject the case before you can file a private criminal complaint. You want to call the Office of the Magisterial District Justice in the District where the fight took place and find out the day that an Assistand District Attorney is going to be there to see if they will accept the case for prosecution as an assault.
